We are pleased to offer government inspected grass-fed beef and pasture-pork directly to customers across Alberta. These are proving a popular choice for discerning customers wanting to fill their freezers with top quality meat with the added benefit of buying in bulk. The seasonal nature of pasture-based production generally means our meat is only available for delivery from September through November. Grass-fed Beef

Our grass-fed Luing beef is exclusive we are currently the only people in North America selling Luing beef direct to consumers. In our experience, Luing cattle are hard to beat for grass-fed beef production. We believe that only 40% of the skill in producing top quality grass-fed beef is in the grazing management whereas 60% is in the cattle genetics. The Luing breed was created specifically to produce a quality beef carcass off grass rather than the grain rations other breeds have been selected for. The key difference with Luings is that they have the ability to marble off grass alone. Marbling is the intramuscular fat that provides the succulence and flavor to make a great steak.

We practice low stress cattle handling at all times which means our cattle have a calm and gentle disposition quiet unstressed cattle make for tender beef. After slaughter the carcasses are hung in a chiller to dry age the beef usually for around 18 days. Dry aging beef is a long established practice proven to make the beef more tender and accentuate the flavor.

Here are some of the comments our customers have about our grass-fed beef:

You have provided us with the very best beef and pork I have ever tasted. We have feasted like kings and queens and have enjoyed every cut. - JE, Calgary

The steaks were so tender I could almost cut them with fork alone (no exaggeration) DG, Calgary

We had our first T-bone steaks yesterday, they were fabulous! Really, really good.....nothing short of melt in your mouth perfection!! AC, Calgary

Beyond Organic

We are often asked if our beef is certified "organic" and I'm proud to say it isn't - it's better than organic! We find most customers have a misunderstanding of what organic is and that our production methods are usually closer to their perception than the official organic standards are. Our grass-fed beef is produced without the use of artificial growth promoters (hormones) or antibiotics. The cattle are fattened solely on lush green pastures that have not been chemically fertilized or sprayed with herbicides or pesticides. They get to roam free and breathe the fresh Alberta air.

In contrast, beef produced to Canadian organic standards can be produced in a crowded, dusty feedlot on a high percentage grain ration provided the grain was grown organically. How different is that from regular beef ... and which would you prefer to eat?
